Women in Jujitsu
We strongly recommend women take up Jujitsu as a form of self defence. At our club we will teach you specific techniques to use against a male aggressor. These will include strikes to vulnerable areas, strategic pressure point attacks, joint attacks and takedowns. Ultimately we want to provide you with skills which can either defeat an attacker or in the very least allow you a window of opportunity to escape to a safe place or seek help. If you don't take up Jujitsu please take up a self defence to help protect yourself.

When do we train?
At Woodthorpe Jujitsu, we believe that anyone and everyone can learn Jujitsu. It doesn't matter about age, gender, or fitness level – our classes are open to all.
Our training sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm for both adults and kids.
For 2025 our last training session will be December 18th returning Tuesday 6th 2026

What to Expect in a Typical Session
In a typical Woodthorpe Jujitsu session, students work through their syllabus at their own pace. Our instructors provide guidance and support, mixing up the training with additional tuition depending on the students' skill levels. This approach ensures everyone can progress at a pace that suits them, building a solid foundation in Jujitsu techniques.

Why Choose Woodthorpe Jujitsu?
Unlike sports-focused martial arts, our training removes the competitive element. We teach practical self-defence skills applicable to modern society. You won't find egos or unnecessary sparring here.
As your skill and control increases so will the speed and realism of your training. We believe our methods of teaching offer a realistic approach while lowering the risk of injury.
Due to the nature of what we do there is always an element of risk which is why you should always listen to your instructor.
